about

I wrote this song after an encounter with the most beautiful boy and his parents visiting Glenavon Waterfall in Clonmany, Co. Donegal.
I pray for better understanding and inclusion of ASD families in our world.

Thanks to Terry McGinty (Valley Studios) and Yvonne Fahy for their musicality in bringing White Noise to audio fruition, and to Eoghan Bonner, Arranmore, for sharing his artistic talent with the world, inspiring so many children to do the same.

lyrics

White Noise
Will you ever share your story? Will you ever speak your name?
Is your life a jackanory? Are you the victim of some cruel game?
I can’t tell if you’re lonely or if you’re present in your pain
I would embrace you wholly I would try and loose the chains
Will I ever hear the sound of your own voice?
Are you lost forever underground, with your white noise?

Is your world a place of freedom? Are you safe and free from harm?
Are you troubled by invasion? Does our ignorance cause you alarm?
I long to find connection just a glimpse of some secret light.
You belong to some dimension far beyond the realms of mine.
Will I ever hear the sound of your own voice?
Are you lost forever underground, with your white noise?

Do they look at you with pity or do they look the other way?
Do you recognise their apathy or even understand the words they say/
I can’t penetrate the weight of your condition
I try but I can’t fight the force of their conviction.
Will I ever hear the sound of your own voice?
Are you lost forever underground, with your white noise?
Your white noise.
